AEP Ohio will upgrade the power grid in Pike, Jackson and Gallia counties to serve a data center campus planned for the site of the former gaseous diffusion plant in Piketon, Ohio. The data center customer is paying for all transmission investments needed to serve the site, insulating other AEP Ohio customers from the transmission costs related to this project. 

AEP Ohio is announcing the 2026 recipients of its Local Economic Advancement Program (LEAP) grants. AEP Ohio is conducting power line survey work along McNaughten Road in east Columbus near Reynoldsburg, resulting in temporary traffic pattern changes for the area. Survey activities will begin near Astor Avenue and continue north to Sister Nancy Ganse Lane and are expected to continue through mid-May, weather permitting.
