  • 7/6/2020 7/6/2020 AEP Ohio Announces Intent to Resume Standard Business Practices

    AEP Ohio has filed a plan with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) to begin a careful transition to standard business operations. Since March 13, 2020, AEP Ohio has operated under a COVID-19 emergency plan, which includes a moratorium on service disconnections for non-payment. As part of the AEP Ohio transition to standard business operations, service disconnections for past due customer accounts will resume in September, upon approval from the PUCO.

  • 7/1/2020 AEP Ohio Neighbor to Neighbor Program is Accepting Applications for Summer Cooling & COVID-19 Assistance

    GAHANNA, Ohio, July 1, 2020 – The AEP Ohio Neighbor to Neighbor Program is now accepting applications for utility assistance grants for the 2020 summer cooling season.  Through a partnership between AEP Ohio, an American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) company, and Dollar Energy Fund, eligible AEP Ohio customers who need help during the summer months can apply for assistance to maintain or restore their electric service.

  • 6/1/2020 6/1/2020 AEP Ohio Submits Request to Update Base Rates, Lays Out Plan For Future Improvements and New Services

    AEP Ohio, an American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) company, today submitted to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) a request to update the base rates charged to customers for delivering electricity to homes and business. AEP Ohio was required to initiate this process under a 2018 agreement between regulators and other groups. However, due to the economic uncertainty created by the COVID-19 pandemic, AEP Ohio has also requested that the PUCO delay the case’s procedural schedule. Under the extended timeline, customers would not see any changes to base rates until mid-2021.
