Why is my bill higher than I expected?
While electricity usage patterns are relatively stable, many variables can impact usage such as extreme hot or cold weather temperatures. If your bill seems unusually high:
Check your bill to see if the read was estimated; if it is, your next bill may be significantly lower when an actual read is performed. You can also check the meter yourself and compare it to the reading on your bill.
Compare your bill to one from the same time last year. You may find that the changing weather causes your bill to rise at this time of year.
Review our energy saving tips. If the cause of the high bill is weather-related, you can make changes that will lower future bills.
