Vice President - Distribution Operations
Tom Kratt is the vice president of distribution operations for AEP Ohio. In this role he is responsible for the electric distribution system, construction, maintenance and operations activities for AEP Ohio facilities.
Kratt has more than 30 years of experience in the electrical utility field. He joined AEP in 1986 as a design engineer for Cook Nuclear Plant. He spent 13 years in nuclear engineering and subsequently held several roles at Indiana Michigan Power in supervisory and management roles within the distribution organization. These include manager of distribution dispatching and distribution systems for the Michigan District. Prior to being named his current position in 2019, he was the vice president of distribution operations at Indiana Michigan Power for six years.
Kratt received his engineering education at the Ohio Institute of Technology in Columbus, where he earned his BSEET degree and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and Supervision from Purdue (Ft. Wayne). He was a four-year, working member of the Nuclear Utility Group on Equipment Qualification and was a contributing member to the EPRI Cable Aging and Management white paper.
