Register With AEP Ohio

To register as a Competitive Retail Electric Service Provider (CRES) in AEP Ohio's Customer Choice Program, download, print, and complete the below documents as indicated. Once completed, please mail the required documents, along with $100 registration fee as indicated on the application. Your completed application and credit information can be scanned/e-mailed to ohiochoiceoperation@aep.com to initiate the process; however, you must still mail the originals (and the registration fee). Additionally, please include copies of your company's PUCO certification and application for PJM membership with your mailed documents.

Note: The Registration Application Form is now a fillable PDF form with a digital signature. CRES Providers may either: 1) complete, digitally sign, save and send the form via email to the above email address; or 2) complete, print, physically sign and send the printed form with the below printed documents. Items outlined in red on the fillable form are required fields. With either option, the CRES is required to submit two (2) printed, completed copies of the agreements below with original signatures.

Please print and mail two (2) completed copies of the following documents, with original signatures to Ohio Choice Operations, AEP Ohio, 700 Morrison Road, Gahanna, OH 43230. The registration fee is due annually.

The following documents are necessary for EDI and financial purposes. Please download, complete, and return one (1) copy of each of the below documents along with your registration documents.

Required Collateral Forms

Based upon an evaluation of financial information provided with the registration application, AEP Ohio will determine whether a supplier is creditworthy. If a provider has investment grade ratings from two of the three major credit ratings agencies (Standard & Poor's, Moody's, or Fitch) it may be granted unsecured credit up to a threshold determined on a non-discriminatory basis by AEP Credit Risk Management. If a Supplier does not have an investment grade rating by at least two of the above mentioned agencies, the provider must supply either a guaranty, an irrevocable letter of credit or cash deposit for the required energy collateral. The following files contain the required and acceptable formats for financial instruments to be used if AEP Ohio notifies you that you must provide collateral for Energy.

AEP Ohio uses Flurry Analytics Service (provided by Yahoo) in order to improve its mobile apps. Flurry’s privacy policy governs the use of this information.

Also, AEP Ohio reserves the right to share any aggregated information (i.e., non-personally identifiable information) with any third parties for any reason, unless prohibited by law.

We will not sell, rent or otherwise disclose the information we gather about you or your account to any third party, except as outlined in this Privacy Policy.

Security

AEP Ohio takes reasonable steps to protect your personally identifiable information as it is transferred to us, through the use of Web technologies such as the Secure Sockets Layer and others. However, no Internet transmission of information is ever completely secure or error-free. In particular, e-mail sent to or from AEP Ohio may not be secure.
