AEP OHIO SCHEDULES OPEN HOUSE TO DISCUSS ELECTRIC TRANSMISSION IMPROVEMENTS IN AUGLAIZE COUNTY

January 3, 2020

GAHANNA, Ohio, Jan. 3, 2020 - AEP Ohio representatives plan to host an open house to seek public input about upcoming improvements to the electric transmission grid in Auglaize County. The Wapakoneta Area Improvements Project involves building approximately 15 miles of power line, two new electrical substations and upgrading an existing substation. The improvements provide an additional power source, support economic development and increase electric service reliability.

The project was announced, and an open house was held, in the summer of 2018. As the development of the project continues, company representatives scheduled a second open house to provide project updates and discuss new potential routes for a section of the power line to help determine a final line route.

Landowners and community members are invited to attend a project open house on Wednesday, January 15 at the Wapakoneta Middle School – Cafeteria at 400 West Harrison St. in Wapakoneta. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the event lasts until 7:30 p.m. The informational event provides residents the opportunity to meet and talk with project representatives and view detailed maps. There’s no formal presentation. Visitors may come and go at any time during the open house. Residents can offer input, ask questions of project team members and learn more about the project.

Additional information about the project, including maps, is available online at www.AEPOhio.com/Wapakoneta.
