AEP Ohio’s Energy Efficiency Programs Have Ended
AEP Ohio’s Energy Efficiency programs have now ended as required by law and we would like to thank you for your support over the last 11 years. With your participation, we have exceeded our goals every year from 2009-2019 (waiting verification of final numbers for 2020). This includes the following milestones:
- Saved customers 5,721 GWhs and over $2.3 billion
- Created green jobs: Over 1000 direct jobs and over 1600 indirect jobs
- Reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 4.0 million tons and reduced sulfur dioxide emissions by 18,400 tons
To put this in perspective, over the last eleven years, we have eliminated the equivalent greenhouse emissions from 873,891 passenger vehicles driven for one year or 515,864,757,387 cell phones charging.
We eliminated the equivalent CO2 emissions from 455,156,503 gallons of gasoline consumption or 466,764 homes’ energy use for a year. We also sequestered carbon to equal 66,884,532-tree seedlings grown for ten years.
These are just a few of our accomplishments we have achieved with and for our valued AEP Ohio customers. We are very proud of our programs as many of them are industry award-winning programs.
We will keep you posted, and hope to have approval to launch a new set of DSM (Demand Side Management) programs in the near future.
