Incentives are available for up to 300 new Level 2 and 75 DC fast charging stations.

Incentives for Level 2 Chargers – Max 6 Ports/Customer Lesser of $50,000, 100% eligible project costs, or $10,000 per port.

Low Income Area Assistance
AEP Ohio is dedicated to installing 10% of the EV Charging Stations in areas of limited income. Customers in income eligible census tracts may qualify for greater incentives. To see if your address qualifies, please click here and enter your address in the upper right corner.
Steps to a successful incentive application and award
- 1. SUBMIT PRE-APPLICATION

Customer submits completed Pre-Application forms to verify eligibility, describe planned project, estimate project costs, funds and requested incentive.
- 2. PRE-APPROVAL

AEP Ohio notifies Customer funds reserved based on Pre-Application.
- 3. DESIGN PROJECT

Customer and/or their contractor completes engineering plans, site design, notifies AEP Ohio for service make-ready, obtains permits and easements, and finalizes equipment selection and project cost.
- 4. INSTALL PROJECT

AEP Ohio completes service make-ready work; Customer and/or their contractor completes site make-ready work; City and AEP Ohio complete required inspections if applicable. Customer and/or their contractor install charging equipment.
- 5. ACTIVATE CHARGING

Customer and/or their contractor energizes the charging equipment and begins data transmission over charging network; AEP Ohio validates data received and acceptable.
- 6. RELEASE INCENTIVES

Customer submits completed Final Application forms with final, actual project descriptions and costs. AEP Ohio reviews and releases incentive payment.
